Liberty Village Care Club

Ways To Help

Sadly, there have been several Liberty Village residents who have suffered an injury or illness recently. For many of us, our families live in other states, so our support circles are small when these things happen.

Our small community is becoming a tight-knit group who genuinely care and support one another.  This club exists to make that care and support easier to give and even more meaningful.

Whether someone is facing a medical challenge, recovering from an injury, grieving a loss, or navigating a temporary hardship, we want our friends and neighbors to know they’re not alone—we’re here to help in whatever way we can.

Lesley Kidd and Donna Skogsbergh have agreed to spearhead these efforts for the community.

If you have a need, would like to learn more, or are willing to help out, please reach out to them via email.

  • Offer encouragement through visits, emails, cards, & calls. Let them know they are not in this alone.
  • Companionship. Offer an ear or shoulder. Visit with your neighbor to take their mind off things, or lighten their load. Share common interests, play cards, or just hang out.
  • Meal trains: A home cooked meal or gift card for a local restaurant
  • Run errands, pick up groceries, offer a ride to an appointment.
  • Help out with household tasks that are difficult for them at the moment.
  • Keep an eye on their home or pick up mail during hospital stays.
  • Caregivers need breaks too: Offer to step in to help out so they can have a break.
  • Offer gift cards, purchase medical supplies, groceries, or help in other monetary ways (if in dire straits)
  • Work with Care Club Organizers to stockpile items that can be included in gift baskets and hospital “go bags”.
